We offer many services to keep your beloved hat in great condition. The following services are available to any hat you own, regardless of where you purchased it. Some prices vary according to each hat.

Basic Hat Maintenance

The following are complimentary services we offer to help maintain your hat. If you're happy with our services, please tell a friend about us!

Headcase Hats - A Hat Store Specializing In Dress and Casual Hats For Men and Women
  • Basic Steam and Brush
  • Hat Stretching
  • Sizing down with a liner (any of your hats)
  • Sizing down with a liner (more than 2 of your hats) - $3.00 per hat after the first 2

Hat Shaping, Stiffening, Scotchguarding

Includes resizing and a basic steam

Prices vary according to each hat, but it's roughly $20 per hat - Results vary according to the level of damage on the hat.

Cleaning

We do not guarantee the complete removal of stains on a hat.
Please Note: Straw hats cannot typically be cleaned. They can be maintained somewhat, but not cleaned like other hats.

  • Fur or Wool Felt Hats - Stain Removal and Steam - $12.00
  • Inner Satin Liner - Handwashed and re-attached - $25.00
  • Fabric Based Hats - Includes Fedoras - $15.00 to $30.00

Wool Ivy caps must be taken to the drycleaners.

Tailoring and Custom Work

  • Custom Feathers - For your Fedora/Bowler/Top Hat/etc. - $1.50 each
  • Stitching - A little stitch here, a little stitch there - $5.00 and up
  • Brim Reconstruction - For caps - $15.00 and up
  • Custom Work - Bridal, Fascinators, etc - $15.00 per hour + material
    (We offer approximate quotes per job)
  • Grosgrain Bands - Changing or adding to a hat - $12.00 each for a regular band
  • Custom Hat Band - $15.00 and up
  • New Satin Inner Liner - Fedoras only - $20.00
  • New Inner Sweatband - We only replace with cotton - $20.00

Hat Cleaning Tips

Tips for Wool or Fur Felt Hats

The best tip we have to share with you to help keep your felt hat in great condition over many years is this:

Try your best to avoid getting your felt hat soaking wet.

We know that being caught in the rain or snow is going to happen, but try, if you can, to avoid major downpours of rain.

If your hat is weather protected (via scotchgaurd, etc), or if your hat is a very high quality & treated fur felt, it can withstand various weather conditions much better than hats that are not.
