Hat Wearing Tips

Where to wear your hats?

Headcase Hats Hat PictureMost of our customers would say that anytime is a great time to wear your hat, and we couldn’t agree more with that statement, but if you prefer to have a few more guidelines on when to wear your Formal hats, here they are: (p.s – many thanks to our wonderful customer Dree for her input)

Formal Hat Appropriate Events:

  • Any event that takes place before 6pm – dress hats are not worn in the evening.
  • Fascinators are great to wear all day, and make a great alternative for people who either don’t feel comfortable wearing a full hat OR for those who do not want to change their hairstyle from day to night. Fascinators were the hairpieces of choice for Camilla’s and prince Charles’s guests at their wedding. Prince Edward’s guests overwhelmingly wore fascinators during the evening festivities.

*Note: Fascinators are little headpieces, usually with feathers or veil. They are much smaller than hats and are usually attached to the hair via a hair comb. They’re very elegant and incredibly versatile as they are less obvious than bigger, formal hats.
