Hat Sizing

Please review this information before ordering.

Men's Sizing

Most hats for men are sized from 6 3/4 to 7 3/4 or from small to extra large (sometimes xx-large). Most companies only make hats up to 7 5/8 (extra large), although we specify when hats are available in bigger sizes. When choosing a size for yourself, please measure your head and follow the guidelines of our chart. If you're unsure, please provide us with the centimeter size of your head so that we may determine your head size. Stretching a hat or adding a liner can most often size hats that are slightly big, or slightly small, but not enough to go up or down a whole size. We send liner with all hats that have an inner band so that our customers can make any adjustments at home that may be needed.

Women's Sizing

Unlike men's hats, women's hats most often come in one size. The size of a women's hat can vary from very small to very big. Most women's hats can be sized down with a liner (women have been doing this for years with their hats). We always include a liner with our women's lined hats, and we ask that you let us know the centimeter size of your head, so that we may ensure a hat can be sized for you. (if you're an extra small and have ordered a hat that fits as an extra large, we may suggest a similar, but better fitting hat). Since most women fall between a small and medium (not all, just most), we make distinctions with our unsized ladies hats as Sandra size (with or without liner) and Sarah size, at least for the hats that would fit us.

Sandra's Size: Head measures 7 1/8, goes up to 7 1/4 with curly hairstyle. Sandra has some large men's hats that are sized down with a liner for the optimal fit.

Sarah's Size: Head measures 6 7/8. Sarah wears size small. Her thinner, short hairstyle never interferes with her hats or her head size. Sarah can wear some medium hats comfortably with a liner.

PLEASE NOTE - THERE ARE SLIGHT VARIATIONS BETWEEN COMPANIES. INCLUDE YOUR SIZE IN CENTIMETRES WITH YOUR ORDER. PLACE MEASURING TAPE AROUND YOUR HEAD WITH THE SAME PRESSURE YOU DESIRE FOR YOUR HAT (NOT TOO TIGHTLY) A HAT IS MORE LIKELY TO SHRINK THAN STRETCH, SO PLEASE GO WITH THE SLIGHTLY BIGGER SIZE (WE INCLUDE A LINER FOR YOU), THAN THE SMALLER SIZE IF YOU’RE IN BETWEEN.

Goorin Hat Sizing

Goorin hats are bigger than average, so please consult with the Goorin chart before ordering a Goorin hat:

Men's Hats

• Small (approximately 57cm) = 7 1/8)
• Medium (approximately 58cm = 7 1/4)
• Large (approximately 59cm = 7 3/8 - 7 1/2)
• One size (equivalent to a medium/large)

Women's Hats

• Small (approximately 56cm = 7)
• Medium (approximately 57cm = 7 1/8)

Kid's Sizes

We find many of the large kid's cadet caps fit small headed females better than the women's sizes

• Small (approximately 50cm = 6 1/4)
• Medium (approximately 52cm = 6 1/2)
• Large (approximately 54cm = 6 3/4)

Shipping Policy

You should receive your parcel within 1-3 days of shipping anywhere in Alberta, and with 5-10 days of shipping anywhere in Canada.

The following rates are for single items only. Your credit card will not be charged until you receive an order confirmation from us via email (within 48 hours of ordering). If an item is unavailable for some reason, you will be notified and no charges will be placed on your card. You are welcome to send us a cheque or money order in advance of your parcel being shipped if you prefer. You are always welcome to contact us and do everything over the phone instead of online if that's your preference. We are more than happy to accommodate you!

*Special note: There is no provincial sales tax in Alberta!

Customs and duty rates to other countries are not included, nor determined by us.

Both shipping and handling fees are included in our rates.

Return & Exchange Policy

At HeadCase Hats, we absolutely want you wear the hat you purchased! We have a very low rate of returns in our physical location because we encourage our customers to take their time and choose a hat that's right for them. We also want our online customers to enjoy their hats for a very long time. The following information should be reviewed before purchasing an item, however, we encourage you to call us or email us regarding any concerns you have.

If you are unhappy with your hat for any personal reason, you may ship it back to us for a full refund within 14 days (you pay the shipping). Your hat MUST BE UNWORN and in excellent condition. Sorry, no returns on Special Orders.

For any hats that were sent to you damaged, defective or the wrong size (with the error being on us), we pay the shipping.

If you requested the wrong size and need an exchange only, you must include the cost for us to re-ship the other hat.

If you love your hat, but it has a slight kink, or the size is a little off, please call us, as we can tell you how to remedy these situations at home, and save you the cost of exchanging.
